As our Sous Chef, you'll be the right hand to our award-winning Head Chef, ensuring the seamless operation of our kitchens and delivering quality tucker to our members and resort guests.
What you'll be doing
- Assisting the Head Chef in planning and executing exceptional dining experiences that wows guests and keeps them coming back for seconds
- Overseeing the preparation and presentation of all food items, ensuring consistent quality and adherence to recipes
- Supervise, train and inspire a talented kitchen team while keeping food safety and hygiene top-notch
- Collaborating with the culinary team to develop new and innovative dishes that showcase seasonal produce and your creative flair
- Maintaining inventory, ordering supplies, and managing food costs
- Providing fresh ideas and input on kitchen operations, contributing to the continuous improvement of processes to keep HGR a cut above the rest
What we're looking for
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef
- Strong culinary skills and a deep understanding of food preparation techniques, flavour profiles, and presentation
- Excellent team management and leadership abilities, with a demonstrated track record of effectively training and motivating kitchen staff
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing situations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with the Front of House team
- Thorough knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen best practices
- A passion for the hospitality industry and a commitment to providing an exceptional dining experience for our guests
