We're looking for a Sous Chef to join the team at Da Bepi, our cosy Venetian-inspired cicchetteria. You'll be working alongside our Head Chef to deliver a tight menu of cicchetti and seasonal classics, creating a fun wine bar environment in our open kitchen.

Sous Chef – Job Description

Position: Sous Chef
Reports to: Head Chef / Venue Manager
Location: Da Bepi (Brunswick, Melbourne)

Key Responsibilities
  • Hands‑on prep, cooking and service across all sections
  • Ensuring consistency, quality and presentation standards
  • Supporting kitchen staff and leading when required
  • Maintaining food safety, cleanliness and kitchen organisation
  • Assisting with stock control, ordering and menu development
  • Overseeing service in the absence of the Head Chef
About You
  • Experience as a Chef de Partie or Sous Chef
  • Strong organisational skills and calm under pressure
  • Passion for Italian cuisine and simple, honest flavours
  • Reliable, collaborative, and proud of your work
  • Ability to work nights and weekends
