The Role
As a Sommelier at OTTO, you will be at the heart of the dining experience, curating unforgettable moments for our guests. From guiding wine selections to delivering seamless service, your expertise and enthusiasm will elevate every visit.
Positions Available
- Sommelier or Wine waiter - Casual contract, plenty of hours available
- Monday- Friday $33.38, Saturday $40.05, Sunday $46.73, Public Holiday $66.75 + Super + Tips
What you’ll do
- Greet and engage with guests in a polished, welcoming manner
- Provide expert wine recommendations tailored to guest preferences and the menu
- Present, pour, and serve wines with precision and confidence
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of the wine list and current wine trends
- Collaborate closely with the floor team to deliver a smooth, professional service
- Handle technical aspects including opening bottles, decanting, and wine pairings
- Manage your section with efficiency and attention to detail
- Execute the order of service with accuracy, pace, and personality
What we’re looking for
- Previous experience as a Sommelier or wine waiter in fine dining
- WSET Level 2+
- Strong wine knowledge — varietals, regions, and food pairings
- Excellent service skills with a guest-first mindset
- Great communication, organization, and decision-making skills
- Ability to stay calm and focused under pressure
- Valid RSA and full Australian working rights
- Availability to work nights and weekends
