About the RoleSG Foodservice Pty Ltd trading as The Restaurant Pendolino has a full-time Restaurant Manager position. You will plan and organise restaurant operations and processes, and lead the team to deliver the exceptional dining experience we are known for, while meeting business objectives. Working hours are primarily Monday to Saturday.
Responsibilities- Selecting, training and supervising staff to ensure the highest level of service standards
- Identifying opportunities to increase service standards and areas for continuous improvement
- Organising and executing functions and events in the restaurant and private dining room
- Ensuring OH&S procedures and policies are followed, health regulations are met, and facilities are clean, functional and presentable
- Providing weekly rosters for staff in compliance with business objectives and targets
- Leading and supervising front-of-house staff, including recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance management
- Monitoring service delivery to align with standards of excellence and responding to guest feedback
- Collaborating with the Executive Chef to plan and update seasonal menus
- Managing inventory, supplier relationships, and procurement of food, beverages, and other goods
- Maintaining records of sales, costs, stock levels, and financial transactions for reporting and analysis
- Ensuring health and safety compliance and maintaining a clean, presentable dining environment
- Handling reservations, guest welcome, and assisting in service during peak periods or special events
- Planning and coordinating private functions, group bookings, and special dining experiences
- Overseeing wine selection and beverage procurement in consultation with the sommelier and wine team
- Supporting marketing and promotional initiatives to build brand presence and customer engagement
- Warmly greeting guests, managing reservations, and guiding guests to their tables
- Presenting menus and beverage lists with confidence and providing informed recommendations, including wine pairings
- Taking accurate food and beverage orders and communicating them to kitchen and bar staff
- Serving meals and beverages with attention to timing, temperature, and presentation
- Opening bottles and supporting the sommelier and cellar team as needed
- Monitoring tables for seamless service, topping up beverages, and clearing items promptly
- Resetting tables between services to meet presentation standards
- Operating point-of-sale systems, processing transactions and handling payments securely
- An appropriate qualification and at least 1 year of relevant experience as a Restaurant Manager in a high-quality, hatted restaurant or equivalent, with excellent food and wine knowledge. Alternatively, at least 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
- Background in restaurant operations and administrative duties such as rostering, stock takes and performance analysis
