Immediate start. Tropicana is seeking an experienced and passionate Italian Pastry Chef for this iconic restaurant in Darlinghurst Sydney. As a full‑time role, you will be responsible for creating all Italian pastries for our Pasticceria display and restaurant.
Key responsibilities- Develop and refine the restaurant pastry offering
- Mentor the kitchen team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
- Ensure compliance with all food safety and hygiene regulations
- Work closely with the front‑of‑house team to provide an exceptional pastry, desserts and cakes experience
- Monitor inventory, manage food costs, and implement cost‑effective measures
- Collaborate with the management team on strategic menu planning and business growth initiatives
- Minimum of 4 years' experience as an Italian Pastry Chef
- Extensive knowledge of Italian pastry and desserts, including a deep understanding of traditional recipes, flavour profiles, and preparation techniques
- Excellent time‑management and organisational skills, with a keen eye for detail
- Proficient in menu development, costing, and inventory management
- Passion for creating visually appealing, delicious pastry and desserts to delight our customers
