Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Create new and innovative dessert and pastry recipes.
- Prepare ingredients according to recipes.
- Bake cakes, cookies, pies, tarts, cupcakes, pastries, and other desserts.
- Decorate desserts with icing and toppings.
- Plate desserts for presentation.
- Oversee food safety standards.
- Train junior staff members.
- Maintain inventory records.
- Order supplies as needed.
- Manage financial records related to kitchen operations.
Requirements for the Position
- Diplomas or certificates from culinary schools related to pastry arts.
- At least 2 years of experience in a professional kitchen as a pastry chef or baker (or strong baking skills if no experience).
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of food safety practices.
- Effective communication skills in English (reading & writing).
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong work ethic and hygiene habits.
