Are you a passionate, driven, and experienced Sous Chef, Senior/Chef De Partie or Pasta/Grill Chef looking to bring the heat to some of Brisbane’s most exciting kitchens?
The Venues:Sasso Italiano - Sasso brings old-school, family-style Italian dining into a cool, contemporary 110-seat space inspired by the vibrant Italian eateries of 1970s New York. With dim lights, great food, and a lively atmosphere, it blends nostalgia and modern style to create a warm, familiar dining experience that feels both classic and new.
South City Wine Bar - a romantic, European-inspired neighbourhood bar offering a worldly wine list, French cocktails, and refined bistro bites in a warm, stylish setting.
Both restaurants are in the heart of South City Square, Woolloongabba .

The Roles:- Sound knowledge and interest of food preparation technique
- Experience and knowledge in kitchen set-up and stock control
- Strong organization and communication skills with the ability to work well within a team
- A collaborative approach with all key stakeholders
- Ability to run own section independently
- Fast, efficient and reliable
Supervise and coordinate daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow across all sections.
Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, recipe development, and food cost control.
Lead the kitchen during the Head Chef’s absence, ensuring consistent quality and efficiency.
Monitor food safety, hygiene standards, and compliance with kitchen protocols.
Train, mentor, and appraise kitchen staff to maintain a strong and cohesive team.
Pasta/Grill Chef (Casual)Prepare and cook fresh pasta dishes or grilled items to order, maintaining consistent quality and timing.
Monitor cooking temperatures, grill settings, and pasta cooking times for perfect results.
Manage station setup, including prep, mise en place, and ingredient restocking.
Ensure cleanliness of equipment such as grills, pasta boilers, and utensils.
Collaborate with the team to coordinate dish timing during busy service periods.

- 5 years minimum experience
- Aspiration to succeed
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail in all areas of your work.
- Australian Resident or Working Rights in Australia
- Adaptable, reliable and able to perform in high-pressured service periods
- Demonstrated ability to work well autonomously and in a team environment
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral
- Be a flexible, hands-on, energetic, and proactive professional
- Available to work nights and weekends as necessary for the business
