We are a thriving and fast-paced Indian restaurant located in Shellharbour, proudly serving authentic North Indian cuisine and modern Indian fusion. As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a skilled and experienced Indian Chef/Cook to join our dedicated kitchen team.
Whether you're a curry specialist, a tandoor expert, or have strong entree plating skills – we want to hear from you!
What We’re Looking For:
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in an Indian kitchen
- Ability to perform under pressure during busy service periods
- Strong skills in tandoor cooking, curry preparation, and entrée plating
- Understanding of Indian spices, marination techniques, and traditional cooking methods
- Excellent kitchen hygiene and food safety practices
- Team player with a can-do attitude and willingness to adapt
- Availability to work nights and weekends
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook authentic Indian curries (vegetarian and non-vegetarian)
- Operate and manage the tandoor oven for naan, roti, and tandoori meats
- Handle starters such as samosas, pakoras, kebabs, and Indian-style entrees
- Maintain consistent portion control and quality of dishes
- Assist with daily mise en place and kitchen prep
- Monitor stock levels and assist in ordering ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area and adhere to OHandS standards
- Train junior staff or kitchen hands when needed
