If you’re organised, approachable, and love being hands-on with both people and process, this role blends day-to-day HR operations with true business partnering. With 2+ years in HR (hospitality a plus) and confidence in HRIS (Tanda preferred), you’ll coach leaders, lift capability, and help us deliver an exceptional employee experience from the ground up.

Applejack is known for itsincredible culture and family-like team morale, with team events throughout the year, great friends for life & fabulous discounts & progression opportunities across 12 award-winning venues;

  • The Botanist, Kirribilli
  • The Butler, Potts Point
  • Bopp & Tone, CBD
  • Hesters Cafe, CBD
  • RAFI, North Sydney
  • Forresters, Surry Hills
  • Taphouse, Darlinghurst
  • Sandys Kiosk & RAFI, URBNSURF Sydney Olympic Park

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a busy venue environment, enjoys variety in their workday, and is looking for career growth in a supportive, values-driven business.

What you’ll do (HRBP focus)
  • Partner with venue leadership on workforce planning, roster efficiency, and team structure.
  • Coach managers on performance, ER matters, feedback conversations, and policy application.
  • Own core HR cycles on site: recruitment, onboarding, probation, development, and exits.
  • Payroll integrity & HRIS: ensure roster/timesheet accuracy and data hygiene in Tanda.
  • Compliance: maintain records, awards alignment, RTW checks, visas/documentation.
  • Engagement & culture: drive recognition, communication rhythms, and staff events.
  • Learning & growth: coordinate training plans and build capability across the team.
  • People analytics: surface trends (turnover, absenteeism, ENPS) to inform decisions.
About you
  • 2+ years in an HR Advisor/Generalist/HRBP role (hospitality or multi-site highly regarded).
  • Confident with HRIS and payroll workflows (Tanda experience strongly preferred).
  • Strong ER foundations, great communicator, and calm under pressure. HIGA Award experience preferred but not required.
  • Practical, hands‑on, and comfortable being the on‑site “go‑to” for People & Culture.
Applejack perks
  • Ongoing training, support, and clear career pathways.
  • Team‑focused, flexible, and supportive environment (we genuinely value balance).
  • Regular team building & events; a fun, upbeat culture.
  • Great incentives & rewards — recognition for quality outcomes.
  • Generous staff discounts across our venues.
