Pinjarra Golf Club is a country club with an exceptional 18-hole golf course located in the Peel district of Western Australia. The course is highly rated with the greens consistently considered amongst the best in Western Australia. The Club has a total membership of approximately 450 active players. The course is open to visitors and receives over 15,000 green players per year. The Board are currently in the process of upgrading the kitchen facility of the Club, which includes kitchen appliances, flooring and cabinetry to attract greater patronage and increase our operating hours to support the local community and our membership.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual with hospitality and culinary experience, that will lead, manage, foster and mentor the Club’s existing bar and hospitality staff to get the most out of themselves. A genuine passion for hospitality is paramount.

The successful applicant will be employed by Pinjarra Golf Club on a full-time basis and must be available to work weekends, public holidays and flexible hours. You will be required to take a hands-on approach to all facets of hospitality including meal preparation and be driven to consistently exceed the expectations of our members and guests.

It is vital that you have a strong work ethic, a keen eye for detail, outstanding leadership and time management skills that allow you to problem solve and prioritise your workload. Candidates must show through their experience that they can work successfully as an individual and within a team environment, perform in a calm and collected fashion under pressure, be committed to ongoing improvement and have excellent communication skills.

The successful applicant will report to the General Manager and be responsible for operational management of the day-to-day operations of our Bar and Kitchen.

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in hospitality and/or food preparation sector
  • Experience working and/or managing a licenced premise
  • As a forward-facing employee, experience in the delivery of service excellence is vital
  • Sound business acumen with the ability to budget and cater for small, medium and large events and functions
  • Excellent personal presentation and communication skills
  • Digital literacy and the ability to confidently work with our existing point of sale system
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol & Restricted Approved Manager Certification
  • Valid Food Safety Handling certification & Food Safety Supervisor Qualification
  • A current National Police Clearance (less than 3 months old)
Duties and Responsibilities

Will include but not limited to;

  • Present and operate the facility in a clean and tidy, ensuring that the Club’s operations adhere to the Liquor Control Act 1988 and the Australian Institute of Food Safety Legislation.
  • Collaborate with your team to prepare a variety of meals that are delivered to the highest possible standard of presentation, quality and service
  • Maintain a positive, professional and energetic work environment
  • Engaging with Members and guests ensuring the Club is meeting and exceeding expectations of service and product delivery.
  • Manage hours equitably between existing staff members and ensure adherence to labour budget
  • Implementing just in time ordering to minimise wastage, reduce inventory holding costs and improve overall profitability
  • Develop procedures and practices to ensure that all staff are trained appropriately to deliver the same, consistent products and services
  • Ensure the Club’s processes and protocols are in keeping with current industry guidelines and WH&S requirements.
  • Work closely with the General Manager and the Management Team to market our Club for special events, functions to increase patronage and overall utilisation of the facility.
  • Opening and closing the venue.
  • Cash handling and end-of-day reconciliation
  • Develop strong working relationship with strategic partners to ensure that the Club is on lowest rates possible for frequently purchased products.
Remuneration

A base salary of $65,000 plus superannuation will be offered to the successful applicant. The Club may be open to negotiation with the shortlisted applicant pool.
