Duty Manager – Hotel Indigo Melbourne Little Collins and Holiday Inn Melbourne

Nestled in the heart of Melbourne's CBD, Hotel Indigo and Holiday Inn Melbourne Bourke Street offer a dual-branded experience across 452 rooms. You will be at the heart of the guest experience, supporting the smooth operation of the hotel with a strong presence in Front Office, overseeing daily activity across departments on shift, responding confidently to guest needs, and taking charge in any crisis situation.

With a focus on service excellence and team collaboration, you’ll lead by example on the floor—empowering staff, maintaining high standards, and ensuring every guest feels welcomed, valued, and at home.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the front office team delivers great service, professional attention, and personal recognition.
  • Greet guests on arrival, engage with them, respond appropriately to complaints, solicit feedback, and drive continuous improvement in guest satisfaction.
  • Conduct routine inspections of the hotel grounds and take immediate actions to correct deficiencies.
  • Provide cross-functional support by assisting other departments as required, promoting a collaborative and seamless guest experience.
  • Ensure colleagues are properly trained and have the tools and equipment to carry out their duties.
  • Assist Management with induction, onboarding, training, and development of colleagues as part of the Performance Management Cycle.
  • Manage and oversee all hotel operations on shift.
  • Be the first responder and know how to respond to emergency situations.
What we need from you
  • Three years of guest service/hotel experience with at least one year in a management capacity.
  • A demonstrated capability of collaborating with multiple stakeholders and managing competing priorities.
  • Problem-solving mindset to turn issues into opportunities and ensure guests leave with great memories.
  • Compliance: hold current Responsible Service of Alcohol, First Aid & CPR. You will be responsible for renewing in line with industry standards.
  • Flexibility: night, weekend and holiday shifts are required.
  • Full working rights in Australia without restrictions.
