Your roleAs a Chef in our Food Services culinary team you will:
- Produce high‑quality, freshly cooked meals in a well‑equipped modern kitchen.
- Be part of a qualified chef brigade producing up to 750 meals per day.
- Have input into function menus and future hospital menus.
- Be provided with opportunities for culinary growth and constant improvement.
- Produce up‑market cuisine for executive functions and events.
- Support the transition to a Room Service model.
- Work in a hotel‑style kitchen operation.

Shifts are typically 5:00 am–1:00 pm or 10:00 am–6:00 pm with some weekend shifts, subject to change based on business demand.
What makes a difference for us- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and a minimum of five years post‑apprenticeship experience (or equivalent).
- Excellent communication and time‑management skills.
- Previous experience in high‑volume food outlets, hotel function centres or large a‑la‑carte restaurants.
- Flexibility to rotate within the main production kitchen sections.
- Professional attitude with excellent personal presentation.
- Proficiency in all aspects of food safety.
- Knowledge and understanding of HACCP principles and PPE requirements.
- Willingness to obtain required vaccinations in line with hospital infection control, and to undergo national criminal history checks and functional assessments.

Remuneration: $32.37‑$34.81 per hour, 12% Super, $15,900 NFP Salary Packaging, plus other benefits.
Location: Opposite Roma St Parklands, St Andrews War Memorial Hospital – short walk to Brisbane city.
