SARN Trading Pty Ltd (T/A: The Mark Hotel) is a well-established venue in Lambton, known for quality pub dining, exceptional service, and a supportive team culture. We are growing and are now seeking an experienced Chef to join our kitchen on a full-time basis.
About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Chef who can contribute to menu execution, maintain high food standards, and support the smooth daily operation of our kitchen. This role suits someone passionate about fresh food, organisation, and leading by example in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and cook menu items across all sections of the kitchen.
Ensure consistent high-quality food presentation and portion control.
Assist in menu planning, costing, and seasonal updates.
Maintain stock control, including ordering, receiving, and proper storage of ingredients.
Monitor food preparation to ensure compliance with hygiene, health, and safety regulations.
Supervise and coordinate the work of kitchen staff as required.
Ensure efficient operation of the kitchen during service periods.
Check freshness, quality, and suitability of ingredients.
Contribute to training and mentoring junior kitchen staff.
Maintain a clean, organised, and compliant working environment.
Required Experience & Skills
Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen.
Strong knowledge of food safety, HACCP, and kitchen compliance.
Ability to work across all kitchen stations confidently.
Excellent communication, time-management, and organisational skills.
Ability to work in a busy environment while maintaining consistency and quality.
Positive attitude and commitment to team culture.
