Founded in 2015 by Chef-Owner Mervin Joshua, we are Adelaide’s first restaurant dedicated exclusively to Coromandel Cuisine, the vibrant and flavour-rich culinary tradition from Tamil Nadu on India’s south-east coast.
Our dishes showcase bold spices, coastal seafood, heritage recipes, and the unique ingredients of the region—crafted with heart, mind, and soul. We are now expanding our team and looking for passionate, talented, and dedicated Chefs who are committed to excellence in Indian cuisine and thrive in a high-energy kitchen environment.
Qualifications & ExperienceTo be successful in this role, applicants should have:
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery / Kitchen Management, and Diploma in Hospitality Management
- Minimum 2-3 years of proven experience working as a Chef in a fast-paced commercial kitchen
- Strong attention to detail and a genuine passion for culinary creativity
- Ability to perform well under pressure and manage time effectively
The successful candidate(s) will be responsible for:
- Leading kitchen operations and preparing high-quality dishes in line with restaurant standards
- Planning and contributing to menu development, including seasonal specials
- Supervising kitchen staff to ensure efficient daily workflow
- Maintaining exceptional standards of food quality, taste, presentation, and hygiene
- Working with fresh ingredients to prepare authentic, innovative meals from Coromandel cuisine
- Managing inventory, ordering supplies, and monitoring stock levels
- Training, mentoring, and supporting junior kitchen team members
- Ensuring strict compliance with food safety regulations, OH&S requirements, and kitchen hygiene standards
- Coordinating closely with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth communication and timely service
- Implementing, monitoring, and maintaining kitchen cleaning schedules
