Job OverviewAs a Chef you will prepare, cook, and present high‑quality meals for patients and staff, ensuring all dishes meet the Australian Dietary Guidelines and standards of excellence.
Responsibilities- Proficient in all aspects of hospital cooking, including cyclic menus, vegetarian dishes, special diets, and function catering.
- Prepare and cook dishes as directed by the Executive Chef.
- Direct catering caregivers in the preparation of ingredients for dishes.
- Coordinate the production and distribution of foodstuffs to various locations within the hospital.
- Ensure staff adhere to food, personal, and kitchen hygiene principles.
- Operate all kitchen equipment and demonstrate operational procedures to others.
- Participate as part of a team and contribute to a high standard of staff morale.
- Recent experience as a Chef in a hospital, hospitality, or similar setting.
- Strong interpersonal and effective communication skills.
- Good written and oral communication; ability to lead and motivate staff.
- Time‑management and prioritisation skills, even under pressure.
- Completed a recognised Chef Trade Certificate.
- Sound knowledge of HACCP and Safe Food Handling Processes.
- Salary: $71,568 – $73,444 plus 12% superannuation.
- Permanent full‑time position, 38 hours per week.
