Chef

St George's Bakehouse in Port Adelaide, SA is seeking a talented full-time Chef to join our team. As Chef, you will play a vital role in the creation and delivery of our high-quality baked goods and delectable food offerings to our discerning customers.

What you'll be doing

Prepare and cook a wide range of baked goods, pastries, and savoury dishes using fresh, quality ingredients

Ensure all meals and baked items are presented to the highest standard

Train and supervise kitchen staff and contribute to a positive kitchen culture

Monitor stock levels and liaise with the team to maintain a well-stocked kitchen

Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations

Provide exceptional customer service and liaise with front-of-house staff

Work collaboratively with the broader team to contribute to the overall success of the bakehouse

What we're looking for

Formal culinary training and/or significant experience as a Chef in a busy commercial kitchen

Minimum 3 years of experience with relevant AQF Certificate III or IV , or

5 years of experience without formal qualifications

Strong working knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards

Strong leadership skills and team management skills

Excellent attention to detail and the ability to execute consistently high-quality dishes

Adaptable and able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Business-minded with an understanding of cost control and kitchen efficiency

Passionate about food, detail-oriented, and creative
