Opportunity currently exists for a Chef to Join our Vegetarian Indian Restaurant. The position is fulltime.
Planning menu for Breakfast Buffet, Catering, Take Away and dining.
· Ensure menu items are made as per standard and authentic recipes.
· Discuss with the Restaurant manager and all staff regarding events and catering to keep the kitchen prepared at all times.
· Prepare different specialty cuisine like Rajasthani food, South Indian(Dosa,Idly and vada), Gujarati, Kathiawadi, Punjabi and Bombay Street Food.
· Should be able to make different authentic vegetarian curries for Thali and other curries from Menu.
· Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.
· Discussing food preparation issues with Managers, Dietitians and kitchen and waiting staff
· Prepares specialty/festive sweets such as Ghewar, Gulab Jamun, Burfi, Jalebi, Different types of Halwa and other traditional Indian sweets.
· Candidate should be able to prepare different types of breads on tandoor(Naan), Puris and Paratha’s.
· The candidate should be able to prepare and present all the food in appealing and new way.
· Be able to standardise the new recipes and train the service staff accordingly.
· Freeze and preserve foods, regulates temperature of ovens, hot plate and other cooking equipment's and examine the foodstuffs to ensure quality.
· Maintain kitchen stock inventory and orders all food supplies accordingly.
· Adhere to all System Operating Procedures (SOP).
· Candidate should be hardworking, punctual, honest and keeps the kitchen clean at all times.
· Candidate should be able to work in busy environment (peak customer hours), be a good team player and fast learner who an adopt to kitchen environment.
To be successful in these roles you'll need: Previous experience of 3-5 years. Awareness of food safety, quality assurance Be reliable enthusiastic and punctual Be able to work effectively and efficiently within a team environment and independently as required.
