We are a busy restaurant and require a fulltime Chef immediately
Qualifications- AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2)
- Have at least 1 year of full‑time work experience in the nominated occupation
- Plan menus with Restaurant Manager, including daily specials, menus for functions, special occasions, or catering (if required).
- Demonstrate cooking techniques and assign cooking duties to kitchen staff. Discuss and resolve food complaints efficiently with the kitchen and wait staff.
- Prepare and cook food according to the menu and meet special dietary requirements, including sauces, desserts, etc.
- Estimate product requirement and costs for the following day and on a weekly basis. Ensure appropriate regulatory licences are up to date, e.g. Food Safety Supervisor.
- Arrange for the input of invoices for inventory and stock control. Supervise and prepare roster for the kitchen staff. Monitor all stages of preparation and presentation of the dishes.
- Ensure food prepared in the kitchen is of highest possible quality and standards. Properly check and maintain all kitchen equipment and conduct regular audits of temperature‑controlled facilities.
- Regulate temperatures on ovens, grills and other cooking equipment in the kitchen.
- Have full operational knowledge of all recipes, standards, portion sizes and presentation style of dishes produced within the kitchen.
- Ensure the freshness and quality of ingredients. Ensure and enforce the health and safety standards are maintained in the kitchen.
