Winchelsea Hotel is seeking a skilled and professional Chef to support our busy kitchen and deliver consistently high-quality meals. In this role, you will prepare and cook menu items, maintain excellent food standards, assist with menu development, and ensure smooth day-to-day kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong culinary skills, good time management, and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment while upholding our commitment to warm hospitality and quality dining.
BenefitsSalary range: $70,000 - $80,000 per Annum + Superannuation.
Task & Responsibilities- Prepare, cook, and present menu items to a consistently high standard.
- Ensure food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and hotel standards.
- Oversee food quality, portion control, and presentation for all dishes.
- Assist in menu planning, daily specials, and incorporating seasonal produce.
- Manage stock levels, monitor waste, and maintain cost-effective kitchen operations.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and compliant kitchen environment.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to support smooth service during peak times.
- Train, guide, and support junior kitchen staff where required.
- Adhere to WHS, hygiene practices, and food safety protocols.
- Minimum 1 year of full-time experience as a Chef.
- Diploma in Hospitality along with Certificate IV in Kitchen Management.
- Sound knowledge of Australian dining expectations.
- Strong understanding of food safety, handling, and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining quality and consistency.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as rostered.
