PHYRE Wood Oven Pizza & Grill is a local restaurant in Two Wells offering a distinctive fusion of Italian‑inspired cuisine and Indigenous Australian flavours, using locally sourced ingredients, native herbs and bold, authentic flavours.
The roleWe are seeking a full time chef to support our busy kitchen, delivering consistently high‑quality dishes across our wood‑fired sourdough pizza range, pasta, grill mains, small plates and desserts. Our menu includes hand‑stretched sourdough pizzas and dishes incorporating native ingredients and flavours.
- Plan, prepare and cook menu items for service, including wood‑fired sourdough pizzas, pasta, grill and entrée dishes.
- Prepare pizza dough and components (fermentation/proofing, portioning, hand‑stretching), and manage the wood‑fired oven (temperature control, timing, consistency).
- Maintain high standards of taste, presentation, portion control and service speed during busy dinner trade.
- Assist with menu development, daily specials and recipe consistency, including the considered use of native herbs/spices where relevant.
- Monitor food quality, minimise wastage, and support food cost control through correct ordering, stock rotation and storage.
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene standards; ensure compliance with food safety, allergen management and WHS procedures.
- Train, supervise and coordinate kitchen staff as required; support smooth coordination with front‑of‑house.
- Qualification: Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years recent experience in a high-volume restaurant kitchen (.
- Confident working with fresh produce, sauces, prep systems and service execution; ability to work calmly under pressure.
- Strong communication, teamwork and reliability; willingness to work evening and weekend rosters.
