Nagis Ceylon Catering specializes in authentic Sri‑Lankan cuisine, large‑scale catering, event buffets, corporate meal services, and premium takeaway dishes. With the continued expansion of our operations, we seek a skilled, experienced, and creative Chef (ANZSCO ) to join our professional kitchen team.

- 2–3 years of relevant work experience required
- Work visa will be provided
- Plan, develop and prepare authentic Sri‑Lankan, Asian‑inspired, and fusion menus for the restaurant, catering, events and takeaway operations.
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen operations, including food preparation, service timelines, workflow and staff allocation.
- Lead high‑volume production for catering events, including buffets, banquet dishes and bulk meal preparation.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, presentation and consistency.
- Oversee mise en place, portion control, recipe development and cost management to minimise wastage.
- Ensure strict compliance with Food Safety Standards, HACCP requirements, allergen controls and WA health regulations.
- Train and mentor junior cooks, kitchen hands and casual staff.
- Monitor inventory, manage stock rotation and place orders with suppliers as required.
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness, equipment maintenance schedules and safe work practices at all times.
- AQF Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or higher.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen (catering, hotel, café, or high‑volume environment).
- Proven ability to manage high‑pressure kitchen operations and deliver dishes efficiently without compromising quality.
- Strong skills across frying, steaming, grill, buffet production, dessert preparation and batch cooking.
- Demonstrated creativity in menu development and ability to introduce new and innovative dishes.
- Excellent leadership, communication and kitchen supervision skills.
- Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene regulations and industry standards.
- Experience with stock management, ordering and cost control measures.
- Ability to work rostered shifts, including weekends or event‑based extended hours when required.
Salary: AUD $80,000 per annum before superannuation.
