Key ResponsibilitiesYour duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Overseeing and contributing to daily food preparation across all sections, including entrées, mains, desserts, and function menus.
- Planning and developing menus that reflect customer preferences, seasonal produce, and budget requirements.
- Managing stock ordering, rotation, storage, portioning, waste control, and overall inventory accuracy.
- Monitoring food costs, menu performance, and the profitability of dishes.
- Reviewing sales trends and customer feedback to support menu updates and promotional opportunities.
- Ensuring all dishes are prepared, cooked, and presented to a consistently high standard and served on time.
- Maintaining and caring for kitchen equipment, tools, and appliances, and reporting any operational needs to management.
- Training, supervising, and supporting kitchen staff, including assisting with onboarding new team members.
- Apply and enforce food safety and HACCP systems in all areas of kitchen operations.
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety, quality, and preparation processes.
- Review and interpret kitchen reports, audits, and documentation to address risks and compliance issues.
- Enhance operational efficiency by improving kitchen policies, processes, and workflows.
- Experience in Mediterranean, European, or similar cuisine, including catering or high-volume service.
- Hands‑on chefs with solid restaurant experience and a strong understanding of quality food preparation.
- Proven ability to produce high‑standard dishes consistently.
- Strong knowledge of kitchen hygiene, food safety, and compliance requirements.
- Professional presentation, reliability, and a positive, team‑focused attitude.
- A genuine interest in learning and applying traditional Greek and Mediterranean cooking techniques.
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or higher
- At least 1‑2 years of experience as a chef
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- A team player supportive of a collaborative work culture
- High standards in food taste and presentation
- Job Type: Full‑time permanent position with all applicable benefits
- Salary: AUD $76,515 to $80,000 per year plus superannuation.
