Summary: Our client, Hyderabad Fusion Restaurant, is seeking to add a skilled Chef to their dynamic team in Gosnells, Western Australia. Renowned as Perth’s premier destination for authentic Indian Mughlai cuisine, the restaurant blends traditional Hyderabadi flavours with modern presentation.
The successful candidate will contribute to delivering high-quality dishes that uphold the restaurant’s reputation for excellence and authenticity. The typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Prepare and cook authentic Indian and Hyderabadi Mughlai dishes to high standards.
- Develop and refine recipes that reflect the restaurant’s traditional culinary heritage.
- Ensure all food preparation meets halal and food safety requirements.
- Monitor stock levels and order ingredients to maintain efficient kitchen operations.
- Train and supervise kitchen staff in authentic cooking techniques.
- Plan daily menus and specials aligned with seasonal availability and customer preferences.
- Control portion sizes and minimise food waste to maintain cost efficiency.
- Ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen and work areas.
- Inspect dishes before service to ensure presentation and quality consistency.
- Collaborate with management on new menu ideas and catering events.
- Maintain accurate records of ingredient usage and stock rotation.
- Assist in recruiting and mentoring junior cooks and apprentices.
- Adjust menus to accommodate dietary needs and customer feedback.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations.
- Contribute to a positive, team-focused kitchen environment.
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the role:
- Certificate III or Cert IV or equivalent qualification in Commercial Cookery.
- Minimum one year’s experience as a Chef specifically in Indian cuisine.
- Strong knowledge of traditional Hyderabadi spices, recipes and cooking techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain consistency, flavour and presentation under pressure.
- Experience managing kitchen operations, ordering and supervising culinary staff.
- Commitment to high food safety and hygiene standards in every aspect of preparation.
- Ability to innovate within the boundaries of authentic Indian Mughlai cuisine.
- Excellent teamwork, communication and organisational skills in a multicultural environment.
