Sailmaster Tavern is a vibrant marina-side dining venue located on the waterfront at North Haven Marina, offering relaxed coastal dining across an indoor bistro, scenic deck, sports-bar area, and versatile function spaces. We are seeking a motivated and experienced Chef to join our kitchen team. The role involves preparing and cooking a wide range of dishes for bistro service, deck dining, bar meals, and functions while maintaining high standards of quality, presentation, hygiene, and timely service. - Prepare and cook menu items including pub classics, fresh seafood, seasonal dishes, and function/event catering.
- Maintain consistent quality, taste, and presentation across all meals served.
- Manage kitchen operations, including food prep, stock management, inventory, and waste minimisation.
- Ensure kitchen and food service areas meet hygiene, food safety, and regulatory standards at all times.
- Collaborate with front‑of‑house and service staff to coordinate orders, timing, and customer service.
- Contribute to menu planning and development of daily or seasonal specials.
- Help maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment, including equipment upkeep and proper storage.
- Be flexible to work varying shifts including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Monitor quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.
- Relevant formal qualifications such as AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, or equivalent overseas qualification.
- Proven experience as a Chef in a busy pub, tavern, bistro or similar dining environment.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, portion control, menu execution, and hygiene/food‑safety standards.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage time effectively during busy service periods.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and customer‑service skills.
- Minimum 1 year of full‑time experience as a Chef.
