PositionChef – Full Time. Salary: $76,000 – $80,000 + Superannuation.
About the RoleThe Chef will play a key role in preparing and cooking high‑quality Italian dishes, ensuring consistency of flavour, presentation, and portion control. You will contribute to menu planning, supervise kitchen operations during service, and support the training of junior staff, helping maintain the high standards expected from our restaurant.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and cook a wide variety of Italian dishes, including pizzas, pastas, entrées, and mains.
- Lead and coordinate kitchen workflow during service to ensure efficient and timely delivery of meals.
- Assist with menu development, seasonal updates, and preparation of specials.
- Ensure consistency in food quality, taste, presentation, and portioning.
- Check freshness, quality, and proper storage of all ingredients.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, complying with food safety and WHS standards.
- Oversee stock rotation and assist with ordering supplies to support daily operations.
- Train, guide, and supervise junior kitchen staff as required.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and ensure correct maintenance procedures are followed.
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or recognised equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen.
- Strong experience with Italian cuisine, including pasta, pizza, and classic Italian dishes.
- Ability to manage high‑volume service periods while maintaining consistent quality.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
- Excellent understanding of food safety, hygiene, and WHS regulations.
- Passion for fresh, high‑quality cooking and delivering memorable dining experiences.
