About Us

City Beer Hall, (Perth CBD) is seeking an experienced Chef to join the team on a full‑time basis. We are seeking someone who is willing and ready to help elevate our kitchen operations.

  • City Beer Hall is a fast paced, thriving bar / pub located in the centre of the Perth CBD.
  • We are a proudly multicultural team.

Our current menu offers a selection of dishes that span across several cultures and cuisines.

  • We are currently open to the public Monday – Friday from 11am – 10pm.
  • We occasionally host private events and functions on weekends.
  • We are a small, but close team.
Required Qualification & Work Experience
  • A strong educational foundation in culinary arts.
  • Certificate IV or above completed.
  • 3 years experience working in a similar role.
  • The ability to work well under pressure and communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Impeccable personal hygiene standards.
  • Appropriate work rights within Australia.
  • Available to work Full Time Hours, Mon – Fri as well as the flexibility to occasionally work weekends for private functions.
Tasks & Responsibilities
  • Creating new dishes and specials on a regular basis, ensuring compliance with the requirements set out by the owners and customers.
  • Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.
  • Work closely with the Head Chef, Venue Manager and Owners to demonstrate cooking techniques and advise on cooking procedures.
  • Preparing and cooking food in a timely manner, whilst ensuring quality is never compromised.
  • Modifying dishes in order to suit different dietary requirements.
  • Ensure appealing plate presentation and assume responsibility for the quality of products served.
  • Ability to handle busy service times and work in collaboration with head chef by providing fast and efficient service.
  • Manage current staff, help with training and upskilling as required.
  • Assistance to hire and train new staff.
  • Liaise directly with the Head Chef and Venue Manager to roster staff appropriately and monitor shifts.
  • Daily & weekly stocktake in order to prepare and place vendor orders.
  • Check freshness of all food deliveries.

Record and keep relevant documentation regarding temperature & storage of all food deliveries.

  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area.
