We are looking for a permanent Part Time Chef to work collaboratively with our kitchen team at the McMahon Caring Centre. The position requires a skilled, resilient, solution focused Chef with experience working in an industrial kitchen.
The RoleApply and oversee ‘Food Safe’ principals and guidelines for the handling, preparation, storage, ordering and costing of foods in line with current legislation.
Coordinate preparation, cooking and/or regenerating of food items for all residents.
Ensure special dietary and texture modified foods are prepared correctly in accordance with resident needs and hygiene procedures followed.
Provide leadership, clarity of duties and supervision to the kitchen team, promoting teamwork and ensuring all tasks are completed to required standards and above.
Order and manage stock, efficiently, economically, within budget.
Ensure the cleaning and sanitizing of cooking areas and equipment meet Food Safe requirements.
The PersonQualification in commercial cookery / chef
Previous experience cooking and supervising in hospital or aged care kitchen.
Demonstrated competencies in food handling, preparation, and storage, ordering and costing of foods as per ‘Food Safe’ requirements.
Demonstrated understanding of special diets and dietary requirements
Current knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety principals.
National Police Clearance - issued within last 6 months.
