As our Centre Chef, you will play a crucial role in shaping the food culture of our centre by preparing wholesome meals and snacks that meet the unique dietary needs of the children in our care. As a Centre Chef at Spring Early Learning, you will
  • Prepare and serve healthy, balanced meals and snacks tailored to children’s nutritional needs, including allergies, intolerances, and cultural preferences
  • Collaborate closely with educators and families to ensure meal plans support each child’s wellbeing and dietary requirements
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment, adhering strictly to food safety and hygiene standardsManage food stock, ordering, and minimising waste through effective kitchen practices
  • Support children’s understanding of healthy eating by contributing to educational initiatives within the centre
We’re looking for someone who has:
  • Proven experience as a chef or cook, preferably within an early childhood or childcare setting
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food safety standards and safe food handling practices
  • Ability to prepare meals accommodating a variety of dietary needs and preferences, including allergies and cultural considerations
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage kitchen operations smoothly
  • A positive, collaborative approach and strong communication skills
  • Relevant food handling and safety certifications (e.g. Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, Food Safety Certificate, etc.)
