emphasis on excellent service and community engagement. Our café is a key meeting point for
members, fostering connections and enhancing the workplace experience.
About the Role
The Casual Barista is responsible for delivering high-quality coffee and exceptional customer
service while maintaining efficiency in a fast-paced environment. This role involves overseeing
coffee preparation, managing stock and supplies, maintaining equipment, and ensuring
adherence to quality standards. The Barista is also responsible for fostering a positive team
culture and assisting in training and development.
About You
You will have proven experience as a barista, with a strong understanding of coffee-making
techniques and equipment. You should possess excellent customer service skills, an ability to
work well under pressure, and a team-oriented mindset. Reliability, punctuality, and strong
communication skills are essential, along with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Required Skills and Experience

Key Responsibilities
Barista Duties
- Operate and maintain coffee equipment
- Monitor stock levels and ensuring timely restocking
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation, adhering to hygiene standards
- Perform bi-monthly equipment servicing and weekly deep cleaning
- Meet coffee-related COGS KPI targets
- Ensure day-to-day cleanliness and internal audit compliance
Front-of-House Duties
- Greet customers warmly, take orders, and provide menu recommendations
- Process payments efficiently and accurately
- Serve food and beverages to tables, ensuring prompt and friendly service
- Clean and set tables, ensuring the dining area is always welcoming
- Restock maintain adequate inventory levels
- Lead from the front with a visible presence in the venue during service
Customer Engagement
- Attend to customer needs, ensuring their experience is enjoyable and personalised
- Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly and professionally
- Promote a positive atmosphere within the café, making customers feel valued
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with other team members, in a supportive and collaborative work environment
- Assist management with reasonable ad hoc duties as required
- Be flexible in your role, willing to assist in various tasks across the café as needed
Additional Responsibilities
- Occasionally work outside standard operating hours with sufficient notice provided
- Attend team meetings and contribute ideas for enhancing café operations and service
Work Health and Safety
- Maintain safe work practices, ensuring WHS standards are always adhered to
- Ensure compliance with WHS standards and complete safety culture audits
