As a barista at Ipswich Roasters Pty Ltd, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the day‑to‑day operations of one of our busy cafés located in either Sadliers Crossing or North Ipswich. You will be responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service, efficient workflow, and maintaining the high coffee standards of Ipswich Coffee Roasters. This role is offered on a casual basis but we are happy to provide permanent part‑time or full‑time employment to the right candidates.
What you'll be doing- Opening at either 6:30am or 7:00am, setting up and ensuring the coffee is tasting great for the day.
- Ensuring excellent customer service by maintaining a positive and professional atmosphere in the café.
- Overseeing inventory management, stock control, and ordering of supplies to meet the café's operational needs.
- Resolving customer complaints and concerns in a timely and effective manner.
- Closing the café and ensuring everything is properly cleaned and set up for the next day.
- A barista who understands how to adjust a grinder to get an optimum shot and is willing to redo something that isn't quite right.
- A barista with latte art skills who can make coffees quickly.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a barista in a café.
- Excellent customer service skills and a friendly personality.
- Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities, with a focus on maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
- Proficient in cash handling.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with both staff and customers.
- A passion for the hospitality industry and a commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience.
- Someone who has a track record of staying in jobs for more than 2 years.
- Someone who loves hospitality and this is their profession (not a gig to do while they study).
- Someone who understands café work involves early starts and weekend work.
