The OpportunityWe are seeking an Area Head Sommelier to lead the development, innovation and execution of the wine program across a portfolio of our venues, one of which holds 3 Goblets from the 2025 Australian Wine Award. This role plays a key part in shaping guest experience, driving financial performance of the beverage program, and growing and inspiring our Sommelier and Front‑of‑House teams.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, mentor, and inspire sommelier and FOH teams
- Develop and maintain a world‑class wine and beverage program
- Curate, update, and innovate wine lists and beverage menus
- Deliver exceptional guest experiences across all venues
- Stay ahead of industry trends, innovations, and new releases
- Build strong supplier and brand partnerships locally and globally
- Manage procurement, inventory, cellar operations, and stock control
- Oversee financial performance, including budgets, COGs, and pricing
- Support venue operations to ensure seamless daily service
- Identify and develop internal talent for succession planning
- Provide training and development for sommeliers and FOH staff
- Collaborate with Marketing and Management on beverage experiences
- Cultivate guest, community, and stakeholder relationships
