Job Description
Joud Coffee is growing and we’re looking for experienced Sous Chefs to support our kitchens in Abu Dhabi and Dubai . This role is hands‑on and focused on breakfast and brunch – from eggs and pancakes to French toast, shakshuka, bowls and sandwiches – executed at a consistently high standard.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead the breakfast section and ensure every plate meets Joud standards for taste, presentation and timing.
- Supervise cooks and commis: allocate sections, follow up on prep, and support during busy service.
- Maintain daily mise en place for a high‑volume café environment (prep lists, batch production, labeling, storage).
- Work closely with the Head / Executive Chef on new breakfast dishes, seasonal specials and menu improvements.
- Monitor kitchen hygiene and food safety (HACCP standards, temperature logs, cleaning schedules).
- Help control food cost through portion control, proper storage, wastage tracking and smart ordering.
- Train and mentor junior team members, leading by example in discipline, professionalism and teamwork.
- Coordinate with Front of House to ensure smooth service and fast ticket times, especially during morning peak.
What we’re looking for
- Minimum 3–5 years experience in professional kitchens, with at least 2 years as Sous Chef or strong CDP .
- Solid background in breakfast / brunch concepts or hotel breakfast operations.
- Confident with eggs cookery, sauces, pancakes/waffles, French toast, sandwiches and healthy bowls.
- Strong organisational skills – you can manage prep, service and staff in a busy environment.
- Passion for quality ingredients, consistency and beautiful plating.
- Good communication skills in English; able to lead a diverse team.
- Flexible to work early morning shifts , weekends and public holidays as required.
- Based in or willing to relocate within the UAE (positions open in Abu Dhabi and Dubai).
