About the role
The Colley Hotel is seeking a talented full‑time commis chef to join our vibrant kitchen team at Molly’s. As a full‑time commis chef you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional Italian dining experiences to our guests. This hands‑on position is based in our modern kitchen located in Glenelg, SA 5045.
What you’ll be doing- Preparing and cooking a wide variety of high‑quality dishes from our diverse menu
- Collaborating with the head chef to create new and innovative menu items
- Ensuring all food preparation and cooking tasks are completed to the highest standards of quality and presentation
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised kitchen environment
- Providing excellent customer service and responding promptly to guest requests
- Mentoring and training junior kitchen staff as required
- Adhering to all food safety and workplace health and safety regulations
- Formal chef training and a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role
- Strong working knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and presentation
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- The ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment
- A flexible and adaptable approach to work
- Food safety certification and a current police check
