Tessa’s on the Beach is a boutique hotel located in Bilinga, QLD. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Hotel Manager to lead the strategic and day‑to‑day operations of our unique beachside property. This is a hands‑on leadership role suited to someone who thrives in hospitality, is passionate about guest experience, and has the commercial acumen to drive performance across all departments.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Hotel Owner, the Hotel Manager is accountable for the overall operational, financial, and people performance of the hotel. You will oversee all departments including reception, housekeeping, food & beverage, and events, while fostering a strong service culture and ensuring full compliance with hospitality and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee daily operations across all hotel departments
• Maintain high service standards and continuously improve guest experience
• Manage recruitment, onboarding, training, rostering, and performance of staff
• Control labour costs and workforce planning in line with business objectives
• Oversee guest relations and resolve issues professionally and proactively
• Monitor financial performance, reporting, purchasing, and cash handling
• Plan and supervise bar, restaurant, conference, and event operations
• Collaborate on marketing and promotional initiatives to drive revenue
• Supervise contractors and maintenance to ensure the property is well maintained
• Ensure compliance with OH&S, liquor licensing, gaming, and other regulations

About You

You are a confident hospitality leader with strong operational and people‑management skills, and a proven ability to balance guest satisfaction with commercial outcomes.

You will ideally have:

• Minimum 1 year of supervisory or management experience in Australian hospitality
• Experience in accommodation‑based hotel operations
• Strong leadership and team‑building skills
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities
• Sound financial and operational reporting skills
• High attention to detail and professional presentation
• Availability to work nights and weekends on a rotating roster
• Experience with Newbook, Bepoz, and Deputy will be highly regarded

Essential (or ability to obtain)

• Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)
• Responsible Management of Licensed Venues (RMLV) / Approved Manager’s License
