About the Role We are seeking an experienced Chef with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience to support and manage daily kitchen operations. The role involves preparing and cooking a variety of menu items, overseeing sections during service, and maintaining consistency across all dishes.
This position requires a hands-on approach, with responsibility for food preparation, workflow coordination, and supporting overall kitchen performance. Key Responsibilities 1. Prepare and cook menu items in line with recipes and service standards
2. Manage a kitchen section and ensure timely service during peak periods 3. Oversee food preparation, portion control, and plating consistency 4. Monitor food quality and presentation across all dishes
5. Maintain compliance with food safety and hygiene requirements 6. Assist with stock control, ordering, and minimising wastage 7. Support menu updates and seasonal adjustments
8. Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service operations 9. Train and guide junior kitchen staff where required 10. Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment
Skills & Experience 1. Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or a related qualification 2. Minimum 3 years of relevant full-time work experience
3. Strong understanding of kitchen operations and service coordination 4. Ability to manage sections independently during service 5. Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
6. Strong organisational and time management skills 7. Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment 8. Consistent attention to detail and food quality
