Carino Management Services Pty Ltd is currently looking for a chef (or experienced aged care cook) for our facility in Sylvania. The Chef will report to the Care and Services Manager and will perform the following:
Responsibilities
- Preparation of menu with the consumers
- Preparing meals
- Oversee the dining experience
- Ensure full compliance with NSW Food regulations and the respective Aged Care Standards
- Lead the catering team including providing training
- Liaising with other members of the health care team, to identify resident care needs, plan interventions and review outcomes of care in relation to diets and texture modified meals
- Manage the budget and ordering in line with the menu
Qualifications
- At least 4 years experience as a chef / aged care cook
- A comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the ageing process, particularly to age-related health issues
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Ability to prioritise and manage workloads according to resident’s needs
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi‑disciplined work team
- Demonstrated interpersonal and written communication skills including experience interacting with a wide range of people
- Demonstrated knowledge of workplace health and safety
- Commitment to continuous improvement
- A previous working experience in the aged care setting is desirable
