The Australian Airline Pilot Academy (AAPA) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Regional Express Holdings Limited (Rex) Australias largest independent regional airline.

Rex is looking for a passionate and skilled Chefs to join our team. The successful candidates will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals managing kitchen operations and ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are met.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to recipes and quality standards
• Assist in menu planning and development
• Monitor food stock and place orders as needed
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen
• Supervise and train kitchen staff (if applicable)
• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations
• Manage food preparation during busy service periods
• Collaborate with front‑of‑house staff to ensure smooth service

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Chef or Cook in a commercial kitchen
• Culinary qualification or equivalent experience
• Professional high standard of personal presentation kitchen hygiene and food handling
• Current Food Safety Certificate
• Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment
• Ability to work without supervision and in a fast‑paced environment
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Strong communication and leadership abilities
• Knowledge and understanding of catering for students from culturally diverse backgrounds
• Must be able to work shift work - work evenings weekends and public holidays
