Baristas are responsible for preparing a range of coffee and non-coffee beverages according to established recipes. This includes grinding and brewing coffee, steaming milk, and creating latte art.
Job Description
- Operate espresso machines, grinders, and other coffee-making equipment.
- Greet and interact with customers, take orders, answer questions about coffee and menu items, and ensure that customers have a pleasant experience in the café.
- Have a comprehensive understanding of the drink menu.
- Maintain quality and consistency of the coffee.
- Monitor the brewing process, adjust grind size and extraction time as needed, and ensure that the coffee meets the café's standards.
- Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the coffee equipment.
- Handle cashiering, process payments, issue receipts.
Requirements
- Has an in-depth knowledge of different coffee beans, origins, roasting techniques, and flavor profiles. (familiar with Australian Coffee is an added advantage)
- Able to multi-task taking orders, preparing beverages, serving customers, and maintaining cleanliness.
- Must be able to commit shift hours
- Preferably 1-2 years of experience
- Proficient in latte art
